GEORGE MACK (Dehm & Mack), proprietor of Havana Brewery, Havana, was born in Wurtemberg, Germany, April 29, 1845; he came to America in 1861. locating at Freeport, Ill., thence to St Louis, Mo., the following year. In 1868, he started a brewery at Edwardsville, Ill., where he remained about one year, and then returned to St. Louis. In 1873, he went to Keokuk, Iowa, and, two years later, removed to Havana, his present home; here he was employed as foreman of the brewery till 1877, since which date he has been a member of the above firm; he was married, in 1866, to Mrs. Ernestine Wirth (Franslaur), who was born in Germany. Six children, the first four by her first marriage:  Anna, wife of G. H. Carl; Zelle, Mary, Ella and Ludy, Maggie and George F. Willie. Mr. Mack is a member of Havana Grove, No. 40, U. O. A. D.
